Division 12

DURCON provides the ideal worksurface system to meet the ever-changing demand of the modern laboratory environment.

DURCON epoxy resin worksurfaces and sinks are a modified epoxy resin with an inert filler and pigmentation. The modified epoxy resin consists of a DGEBA type resin cured with an anhydride. These materials are brought together at an elevated temperature, a catalyst is added to promote the system, and cast at an elevated temperature. The system is maintained at the elevated temperature to optimize the physical properties and chemical resistance.

Due to the homogenous nature of the DURCON product, there is no lamination to bubble or crack, and no porosity to allow liquid penetration. DURCON epoxy resin is inert; its molecular structure is highly resistant to most chemicals used in the laboratory environment. DURCON surfaces are also highly heat resistant, preventing cracking or blistering. The strong polymer bonding within DURCON epoxy resin gives it a hardness comparable to stone, but without stone's inherent inconsistency and porosity.
