This course examines the use of resinous floor coating systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities as a solution to meet functional, aesthetic, and environmental needs. We will distinguish the types of resinous floor coating systems available as well as their benefits and limitations. In addition, we will discover the importance of preparing a substrate for a floor coating system, ensuring a low moisture level in the substrate, and applying industry standard test methods to ensure that the flooring system will be durable, safe, easy to maintain, and have a visual appeal that can withstand exposure to elements within various industries. We will also analyze diverse applications of the resinous flooring system to fully understand the innovative ways the product may be used to promote the health, welfare, and safety of buildings and its occupants.
