Powder and Liquid FEVE Coatings for Curtain Wall & Infrastructure Applications
About the Sponsor
AGC Chemicals Americas manufactures, markets and sells high-quality fluoroproducts including Fluon® fluoropolymer resins and compounds and AsahiKlin fluorinated solvents. Our Company also markets and sells specialty chemicals including LUMIFLON™ fluoropolymer resins, Asahi Guard E-SERIES water and oil repellants, F-CLEAN® greenhouse films, Solesphere fine silica additives, and various fluoro intermediates.
In this one-hour course, we will discover the strengths and advantages of FEVE fluoropolymer topcoats for bridges and curtain walls, as well as maintenance re-coating of existing finishes. We will evaluate coating performance tests including accelerated weathering and real-time weathering and what the implications are for the life of different coatings. We will also assess the life-cycle cost advantage and sustainability benefits of FEVE topcoats despite their higher initial cost compared to other topcoat formulations.
Learning Objectives:
- Define FEVE and discuss FEVE coating technology, history and unique weatherability properties as well as its ease of application and extended maintenance intervals
- Discuss real-time and accelerated testing of FEVE coatings that demonstrate their proven performance in terms of corrosion resistance, and color/gloss retention retention over long periods of time
- Quantify cost and sustainability benefits of FEVE coatings regarding life-cycle and the LEED v4 rating system
- Discuss guidelines for proper specification and explore several real-world applications
