Powder and Liquid FEVE Coatings for Curtain Wall & Infrastructure Applications

Powder and Liquid FEVE Coatings for Curtain Wall & Infrastructure Applications

to take this course

In this one-hour course, we will discover the strengths and advantages of FEVE fluoropolymer topcoats for bridges and curtain walls, as well as maintenance re-coating of existing finishes. We will evaluate coating performance tests including accelerated weathering and real-time weathering and what the implications are for the life of different coatings. We will also assess the life-cycle cost advantage and sustainability benefits of FEVE topcoats despite their higher initial cost compared to other topcoat formulations.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Define FEVE and discuss FEVE coating technology, history and unique weatherability properties as well as its ease of application and extended maintenance intervals
  2. Discuss real-time and accelerated testing of FEVE coatings that demonstrate their proven performance in terms of corrosion resistance, and color/gloss retention retention over long periods of time
  3. Quantify cost and sustainability benefits of FEVE coatings regarding life-cycle and the LEED v4 rating system
  4. Discuss guidelines for proper specification and explore several real-world applications
