In this one-hour course, the basics of Interior Finish and Joint system design for firestopping installation are covered. Additionally, this course covers joint types, how they are tested and what to look for when choosing the correct UL system for each application. Finally, this course covers movement capabilities, how and why this performance is tested in today's evolving construction.

  1. Identify different joint types: head of wall, bottom of wall, wall to wall, floor to floor and edge of slab
  2. Recognize movement capabilities and the differences between static and dynamic joints
  3. Describe what fire ratings of floors and walls are
  4. Identify the different types of rated and non-rated partitions
