This one-hour course will demonstrate the basics of what goes inside a hybrid operating room, the types of rooms, best practices and some design considerations utilizing 10 guiding principles. By the end of this course, design professionals will be able to better understand the parameters by which a successful hybrid operating room design can help with technology and workflow considerations.

Learning Objectives: 
  1. Describe a hybrid operating room’s key physical factors in the design of a safe, efficient workspace for patients, physicians, and staff
  2. Explain how design decisions can impact hybrid operating room workflow, sterility, and procedural efficiency
  3. Identify the key ceiling mounted equipment items, mounting locations, and their spatial relationship to walls, table, and sterile field
  4. Effectively communicate the best practices and potential pitfalls of many hybrid OR design decisions
