Discuss product applications and various attachment systems and features and benefits. Educate the Architect as to the key role and significance played by the fabricator if he is engaged in the project early. This new understanding will enable the Architect to design more accurately, timely and cost efficiently. Enable the Architect to fully understand the possible ramifications of using MCM cladding when it comes to building energy efficiency and environmental responsibility issues.
Learning Objectives:
- Summarize the features and benefits of MCM as an exterior cladding option. We will talk about product options, warranties, product testing, finishes and markets
- Discuss the fabrication process including design, technical support, fabrication efficiencies and installation
- Discuss the advantages of the standard attachment system options in developing the total wall assembly and how they work in tandem with the other components such as continuous insulation and water barriers Discuss the various code issues that may arise including fire testing
- Evaluate the significance of such LEED issues as building energy performance and manufacturing in an environmentally responsible manner
